Is it recycling if it’s completely new to you?? I doubt anyone who reads me now, read me then or read the blog where I first got this from. I couldn’t possibly take full credit but I still wanted to share. I will try to cite the creador as best I can with the tools I have (google).

Some years ago, back during the anon days, I used to read a circle of blogs. One blogger, The Yeti, wrote about NotDating(looking for TM symbol) though I believe he originally wrote it as James Durbin. Then another blogger, Single Guy In The South, wrote more about it. I don’t think either has their blog anymore. I had to google the term to even find out where I first read it. But I thought of them because bloggers yammer about not dating all the time. Most recently, I read Jarrod ‘Comments Off’ Halsey say maybe he shouldn’t date anymore and I was reminded of NotDating. Is that a look of confusement?? I’m trying to come up with something quick. People have sent me ideas. But I don’t have time to flesh them out right now. BTW, thanks for your responses yesterday. While you were commenting, I was also talking it over with a friend. I haven’t decided my next action yet. But I’m much calmer. Cus for real, I was starting to panic. On Saturday morning, I read Jerrod’s Dear Life post. It was a really good post. I would have told him that if his comments were on. It was one person’s honest reflection. In it, he points out things he should have done. If he’d done at least one thing different, would his life would be different now? Or would he be in the same place after having traveled a different road? (more…)

Saturday night there was a going away party for one of my girls. I drove and another of our friends caught a ride with me. We live right around the corner from each other so it wasn’t a big deal. Plus, she doesn’t have a car. Anyhow, I wasn’t really feeling up to the party to begin with but I couldn’t miss it. I went, said my goodbye, then asked the girl who rode with me if she was going to catch a ride back. She said she would. We went through the house and said bye to everyone. I went to the closet to get my coat. I told her I was about to warm up the car and to come out ASAP. (more…)

Oh I have so many half done posts. There’s the one I started on the topic Honest gave me. Then there’s the one I started in response to Strangejazz’s comment yesterday. I’m really tired of the relationshippy stuff but people just keep giving and giving. Has anyone ever had someone suggest ‘a series’ to you?? A series of dates/activities? Who does that? Who says, “Let’s go out on a series of ______?” If anyone can explain this to me, please do so in the comments. Anyone ever realize you were dating someone dumb?? And then realize they are so dumb you know it won’t last so you keep it a secret from friends and family?? Sheesh. I guess this is how men feel when they date dumb but pretty women. Y’all, I like people who read. I like men who read and know things outside of their jobs and sports. Now that we’ve got that out of the way, her e comes the downer of a post. And yes, I know the Voice of Reason was supposed to be today. You won’t get it today and don’t act like you care cus if you did I would have gotten better submittals. (more…)

Last night when I got home, I was kinda wired. So I turned on the good old Tivo. Ya’ll should be happy I did because otherwise, you’d come here to no post. The Game was about living together with nothing on paper. That is, living with your man, him supporting you but you have no legal rights to anything. A team mate put his girlfriend out. She had no job and didn’t have access even to any of his accounts. She was short. This made Melony get all tight faced with Derwin because he was paying for her medical school, paid all the bills, and she didn’t have her name on anything except for the apartment she shared. Much like the idiot in The Coldest Winter, she thought this really meant something. But the bottom line is, IF he decided to put her out, she would be short. In the end though, her and Derwin worked it out. He realized she wasn’t a gold digging whore and she realized he wasn’t low down enough to put her out on the street. A minor thing I appreciate about the show is that those two listen to their crazy assed friends but in the end, they come to a solution that works for them. (more…)

I was the originator of Behind the Blog. I also believe, at least in this circle of bloggers, I started the whole thing of starting apost off with a story that ends with a somewhat related cautionary tale or moral lesson. I’m going to start something new-ish again. A couple of the girls and I were talking this weekend. We don’t talk on the phone or anything like that. But when we get together, if at all possible, we have a little club meeting away from the guys. Somehow, it always happens to be in the kitchen. Anyway, this weekend one of the chicks revealed that she’d done the unspeakable. She gave aus a couple of chances to guess. The married woman guessed she’s slept with a married man. I guessed she’d slept with one of our exes. What did she do?? She loaned some clown some money. At this point, the married chick, explained to our girl that when she’s contemplating doing something she can feel is wrong, she should call one of us because we are two of the most eyebrow raising-est, suspicious broads this side of the Mason-Dixon line. Did any of you have braces in your youth?? I never did. But I got a lot of other things done. I was a candyhead–like a crackhead but without all the running around nekkid and selling myself for the sweet sugary taste. I don’t blame my parents. they had no idea. Who I blame is Honey Baby. Yes, Honey Baby. She was the lady who owned the local candy store–Honey Baby’s. All the penny candy a kid could carry. And she was right up the street from my ES which was also the same place I caught the school bus in middle school. (more…)

I remember when I was in HS. We skipped a lot of school…I mean a lot!! Ya’ll from 10th -12th grade, I don’t think I went to school five straight days. Sometimes we’d go on what I now call ’student sponsored activites’. We’d hit beaches, museums, malls, and parks. Sometimes we’d even gather at one person’s house and just kick it. So yu can see we did a lot of hanging out. Girls and guys. But we were nerds, hence the cultural outings that didn’t include sex and drugs, excluding alcohol. One time, just the girls were kicking it at someone’s house. My girl’s brother came in and asked, “What? Is this a club meeting?” Since that day whenever I walk into somewhere were there’s a gathering of a few like people, I remember that line. (more…)
