Where Y’all Register’d?
NOTE: I just wanna say again how much y’all RAWK. We’re having such a civilized discussion here. Not that I expect anything less of y’all. But sometimes…well you never know.
It’s no secret that I have not, nor do I plan to ever attend a baby shower for an unmarried woman or couple. I have and will continue to buy gifts for the unborn (and later born) child. Because my friends and associates KNOW this, it’s not been a problem. Wait, that could be because I have only had ONE friend (associate and friend are not the same) have her shower before she got married. Some would argue that I’m wrong for not supporting a friend. But I don’t hide how I feel. Why should I compromise how I feel for them when they knew where I stood before time began?? I’m supporting the friend and baby by buying a gift. BTW, in case you’re wondering, I don’t attend celebrations anything that has long-term implications for people outside of the adults involved. Thsi includes Going Away To Jail parties.
